Let's suppose that you are the administrator of a computer network and you want to make sure that every computer is correctly configured and has proper access to the network. For making this possible, you would have to check each computer's network configuration and in case the network is large, you will lose a lot of time with this. A much more efficient way would be to use a specialized network software for analyzing all the computers connected to a network. A program that can do that is Advanced IP Scanner. Guessing what the program can do requires just looking at its name for a second.
This is a Windows application that can scan the IP of every computer connected to a network and can display relevant information for each of them. The software is easy to install and also easy to use, requiring minimum knowledge regarding computer networks. The software can scan even computers that are protected with a firewall and can even detect network dives, like routers or printers.
After launching the software, one has to set the IP interval which will be used for scanning. The program is able to detect the configuration of your network and can set this range automatically. After this, pushing the Scan button is all that takes to start the scanning process. After a while, all the computers and devices connected to the network will be available and the user can see some information regarding each of them, like the shared folders.
One can even turn on computers that are currently in standby, presuming that the computer supports the Wake on LAN feature. Moreover, computers can be turned off from this application by simply entering their username and password. This feature can save a lot of time, especially if one has to deal with a large network.
Advanced IP Scanner is compatible with Radmin, a program for remotely connecting to computers, and allows performing some of its actions directly from the interface. Furthermore, the list of found computers can be saved and then reused later on. Thus, one won't need to scan the network over and over again.
